The WMS assists users in managing the fulfillment, shipping and receiving tasks in the warehouse or distribution center, such as picking goods from shelves to ship or putting received goods away.
This block updates the inventory management module in the ERP block with the latest inventory data gathered from barcode readers and radio frequency identification tags.
Data from the ERP block and the WMS are synchronized through an integration link.

The TMS manages the shipping process. Shipping carrier information is housed in this system, as is a shipment planning, execution, and tracking system. It is common for a TMS to be integrated with a WMS so that logistics tasks, including palletization of goods, labor scheduling, yard management, load building, and cross-docking, that occur at the interface between warehouses and freight shippers can be better coordinated.
